Monimel is a mixed-media artist from Indonesia who began her artistic journey at a young age. However, she did not have the opportunity to study art due to the political situation in her country in 1998, though she remained interested in artistic activities. In 2015, she started a souvenir business, which ultimately closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In early 2021, she resumed her art activities through NFTs and has continued ever since.
Monimel is highly active in the international art lovers' community. Through her experience in organizing and running a business, she has helped emerging Indonesian artists by acting as a liaison between them and the global art community. One of the significant events she organized was the Bali Art Space in collaboration with Metarupa and Tez Town in 2024.
Monimel's artworks often tell stories about life experiences, childhood memories, and fantasies inspired by her observations. Growing up as an introvert, she was not inclined to share her personal experiences through words, so she sometimes expresses them through her artwork. While she enjoys working with oil paint, she also appreciates unique elements, leading her to incorporate various mixed-media techniques in her creations. Her passion for media mixing was influenced by her father, who was also an artist and had a deep love for creativity and innovation.
